Established in 1984 our packhouse is located on the outskirts of the small Central Otago town of Cromwell (pop approx 4000). We pack and distribute cherries from the surrounding area both from our own orchards and on behalf of other growers.
We grow and pack cherries (over 30 different varieties)and very small amounts of plums for both the export and domestic markets. We are NZ's largest cherry exporter and send its finest fruit all over the world.
Many of our seasonal workers return year after year. We have also earned a reputation from backpackers as a great place to work. You should expect to start work early (6.00am) and finish around 3.00pm most days if you work in the orchard. People in the packhouse are more likely to work from 7.00am until 6.pm,(although this is subject to fruit volumes). This allows you to enjoy some time with newly made friends or explore Cromwell and the surrounding lakes and country-side as it will not get dark until 10.00pm at harvest time. We are very lucky to be located in a world class tourist destination.
